DMV to Feature Convenient Kiosk and Online Services at the State Fair

8/9/2017

CHARLESTON, W.Va. - Visitors to the State Fair of West Virginia in Fairlea can “Skip the Line” over the next ten days and stop by the DMV booth to renew their vehicle registration and driver’s license, among other services.

Fairgoers may recall that the DMV Now kiosk was first introduced at last year’s State Fair.  Commissioner Pat Reed recalls the excitement of last year’s unveiling, and is looking forward to bringing the kiosk back to the State Fair this year.  “We were thrilled last August to unveil the first of our now seven kiosks statewide, and even more excited to share additional features and services this year, including driver’s license renewal.  Customers visiting the State Fair can stop by and see us in the West Virginia Building, August 10th through the 19th.”

Commissioner Reed reminds customers to bring their current tax receipt and vehicle registration card for the vehicle renewal service.  Driver’s license renewal requires the current driver’s license.  According to Reed, “Customers that have any changes to their license or registration will need to visit their local DMV Regional Office; however, if no changes are needed, we’d love to have you come by our booth, where DMV staff are on-hand to assist you.”

“Customer service is our number one priority,” said Reed, “and over the last two years, we have worked tirelessly to make our services as easy and accessible as possible to the public.  We now have seven kiosks, with locations in Kanawha City, Beckley, Barboursville, Clarksburg, and Star City, and two more to be added this month in Wheeling and Martinsburg.”

DMV will continue to add services to the kiosks and the online services portal, to decrease wait times in the Regional Offices, and provide the best customer service to those who have more difficult or time-consuming transactions.
