Parkways Authority Board Meeting
DATE: Thursday, December 5, 2013
TIME: 10:30 A.M.
PLACE: Beckley South Maintenance Facility
374 George Street
Beckley, West Virginia 25801
PURPOSE: To consider and act upon all matters that may properly come before a meeting of the Parkways Authority Board. These matters may include discussion of and possible Board action on the following: Approval of the minutes of the November 7, 2013 Board Meeting; Approval of bridge painting contract BP-1-14; Conversion of high mast tower lighting to LED fixtures at the Kanawha City and US60 interchanges along the Turnpike in Kanawha County; Approval of purchase of generators for Ghent and Chelyan Maintenance; Clause to be added to the existing Restaurant Lease and Operation Agreement (the “Agreement”) between the Authority and Host International, Inc., (now HMS Host) a wholly owned subsidiary of Host Marriott Services Corporation, which will permit the addition of one or more hold over periods to the ‘Term of the Agreement’ under Section 2 of the Agreement. Staff believes that the addition of the ability to enter into such hold over periods is necessary to the continuation of essential food services at the three travel plazas under favorable terms likely not achievable if a new lease/operation agreement would be awarded for the short period remaining between now and June of 2019; Resolution authorizing the General Manager, with the advice of the General Engineering Consultant, HNTB Corporation, and General Counsel, to execute and deliver reasonable and necessary easements and right of way agreements to the applicable public utilities to supply the cell tower sites that are being developed along the West Virginia Turnpike and other areas within the West Virginia Parkways Authority rights of way; Other items which may become apparent or need attention and may be added to the business agenda of the meeting; attention is called to the fact that the agenda of the meeting will be available three days in advance by calling 304-926-1900 or at the website www.wvturnpike.com; items of business may be added to the agenda up to 48 hours prior to the date of the meeting.
