The agenda promises to provide a healthy mix of internal and external topics as well as general audit interest. We have scheduled DOT OIG speakers on fraud, members of the consultant industry to provide their perspective and members of the CPA community to provide their unique insight. We will have updates on the audit guide and the internal audit guide as well. Representatives from TeamMate Audit Software will provide an overview of the product and address the most recent updates to the software.
We are going to do a panel type discussion on Design Build projects in WV, utilizing members of the audit, consultant and in house engineering staff to discuss this dynamic topic.
I have scheduled local speakers including our
Secretary of the DOT, Director of the
local FHWA Office, and our
State Auditor.
Native West Virginian,
Jessica Lynch is our banquet speaker. Ms. Lynch was the first successful rescue of an American POW since WWII, and the first ever rescue of a woman POW.
Tom Watt, “the Buffetman” – a Jimmy Buffett tribute band is our banquet entertainment. The banquet will be at the Marriott on Tuesday evening.
We are going to a baseball game at
Appalachian Power Park and having a dinner there on Monday night.
