Randolph, Braxton, and McDowell Counties Can Now “Skip the Trip!”

10/29/2014

CHARLESTON, WV— Recent upgrades to online tax records now make it possible for DMV customers in Randolph, Braxton, and McDowell counties to renew their vehicle registrations online, without standing in line at their local regional office.

According to Acting DMV Commissioner Steve Dale, these three counties join 44 others across the state in offering the ability to verify personal property tax payments online, which is an integral part in renewing vehicle registrations.  Launched in April by Governor Tomblin, this service provides convenience and saves customers time and money.  Now, 94% of DMV customers are eligible to renew online.

“The latest statistics show that customers are taking advantage of DMV’s online services portal at dmv.wv.gov.  Counties with the greatest percentage of customers “skipping the trip” and renewing their registrations online include Jefferson, Monongalia, and Kanawha.  Berkeley County tops the list (just slightly ahead of Jefferson County), with those residents being three times more likely to renew online compared to other counties.

Commissioner Dale also points out that, “DMV offices will be busier than usual in the next month with Election Day, Veterans’ Day, and Thanksgiving holidays. I encourage citizens to visit the DMV website and see how easy it is to conduct DMV business from the comfort of their homes, saving time and gas money."

So, when your vehicle registration renewal arrives in the mail, “skip the trip” and renew online at dmv.wv.gov!
