CHARLESTON, W.Va.- The West Virginia Division of Motor Vehicles (DMV) will offer customers the opportunity to obtain a Sesquicentennial license plate during West Virginia’s 150th birthday celebration at the State Capitol. The DMV will have a booth set up on the Culture Center plaza deck, Saturday, June 22 from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.
Customers interested in obtaining a Sesquicentennial plate must bring their current registration card and proof of valid insurance. Customers must also bring proof of paid personal property taxes for 2012, if their current registration is expiring within the next 60 days. Those unable to attend the birthday celebration on Saturday may exchange their current plate at any DMV Regional Office or by mail at the time of renewal, or at any other time for a pro-rated fee.
