Fayette County – West Virginia
Division of Highways announces a lane closure with width restrictions on US19,
at the New River Gorge Bridge, according to Greg Hylton, District Nine
Construction Engineer.
Beginning Tuesday, April 4, 2017 at
7:00 a.m.traffic on US 19 at milepost 18.5 to milepost 21.0 will be reduced to
a single lane, with a 14’-3” width restriction.
Temporary concrete barriers will be in place closing the fast lane at
this time. The closure is required to allow for bridge repairs. The anticipated interim completion date is
set for October 19, 2017.
Traffic
control devices will be in place to maintain traffic flow; however, motorists
can expect delays and should allow additional time for their commute or seek
alternate routes.
Motorists
are asked to reduce their speed through the work zone and observe all traffic
control signs.
