The West Virginia Parkways Authority is currently accepting resumes for the position of Radio Dispatch Operators.  This is a full-time position that is located at the WV Parkways Authority Headquarters in Charleston, WV.  Benefits include health insurance, retirement, holiday pay, annual and sick leave.  Starting salary is $11.53 per hour.

Duties and Responsibilities:  Coordinates radio and data communication traffic according to established federal, state, and local rules and regulations for the West Virginia State Police, WV Parkways Authority maintenance units, towing agencies and emergency personnel.  Performs duties of sending, receiving, relaying, monitoring, logging, recording, reporting and interpreting emergency and non-emergency information to and from mobile units or computerized databases; operate radio and other data transmitting equipment.  Performs administrative duties necessary for the operation of the communications center.  Communicate effectively both orally and in writing.  Must have the ability to work under stress and exercise good judgment in emergency situations, analyze emergency situations and adopt quick, effective course of action.  Establish and maintain effective work relationships with those contacted in the performance of required duties. 

Education:  Must be 18 years old.  Have a high school diploma or its equivalent.

The successful candidate must pass a background check, have a WEAPONS teletype certification or be able to successfully pass a teletype certification.

Preferred Qualification:  Experience in a dispatch environment and keyboarding skills are preferred.


The West Virginia Parkways Authority, an Agency of the State of West Virginia responsible for operating the West Virginia Turnpike, is currently searching for an experienced, reliable and task-oriented Senior Executive Assistant to the General Manager.  The Senior Executive Assistant will work directly with senior management and will be responsible for performing a number of administrative duties.  The ideal candidate is highly self-motivated, professional and capable of managing their work load and prioritizing tasks in a fast paced environment.

The following is a description of duties required of the job:  Coordinate executive communications, including taking calls and responding to e-mails; maintain an organized filing system of paper and electronic documents; uphold a strict level of confidentiality; coordinate the preparation for monthly board and committee meetings and prepare minutes for all noticed meetings; read, research and route correspondence; draft letters and documents and initiate telecommunications.

The West Virginia Parkways Authority is accepting resumes for the position of Temporary Customer Service Center Representative (CSR) at the Administration Building located in Charleston, WV (with the opportunity for full-time employment).  Applicants will be required to interact with the public, customers, and businesses in a courteous and professional manner; providing accurate information regarding WV E-ZPass electronic tolling system.  A CSR must have good decision making and conflict resolution skills and must have the ability to learn toll rates and discount plans and perform all duties related to customer account management.  A CSR must be able to operate a variety of office equipment including a personal computer.  This is a 40 hour per week position, or as needed by the Parkways Authority, and requires a minimum high school diploma or GED.  Previous customer service experience preferred.  Starting salary is $9.68 per hour.  Please submit resumes by August 31, 2017 to WV Parkways Authority, Attn: Personnel Office, P.O. The West Virginia Parkways Authority is currently accepting resumes for the position of Toll Equipment Specialist.  Essential functions of the job are:  maintenance of all equipment associated with the Toll Audit System, including AVI (E-ZPass) system, VES System, Telephone/Intercom systems, also VMS Signs, RWIS Weather Station and 511 System Cameras.  Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:  troubleshooting hardware/software problems; preventive maintenance of equipment; bench repairs and testing; install, remove and modify all equipment; install, remove and test software; perform and complete daily maintenance forms and logs; maintain safe and orderly work environment; replace, repair and test printed circuit boards to component level; run wire cabling, conduit; and, other duties as assigned.  Must be able to work in confined area and lift upward of 100 pounds, operate a motor vehicle and a personnel lift truck.  Must have a valid West Virginia Driver's License/Commercial Driver's License (preferred) or required within 6 months of hire date.  High School diploma or equivalent required.  Background in electronics, PC/Network operation and repair required.  Experience with current Windows operating programs required.  Minimum starting salary $11.31 per hour with progressive pay plan to $18.94 per hour.  Interested applicants should submit their resume to the WV Parkways Authority, Attn: Personnel Office, P.O. The West Virginia Parkways Authority is accepting resumes for Temporary Toll Collectors (will be given opportunity to progress to part-time and/or full-time) for the Charleston (Chelyan/Sharon) location.  Applicants should possess knowledge of the state highway system, effectively meet, greet and deal with the public, communicate clearly, make change correctly while maintaining a positive image of the Parkways Authority and the State of West Virginia.  Applicants must be available to work all shifts and subject to callout with short notice.  Applicants must be at least 18 years of age, possess a HS Diploma or GED and have dependable transportation. Salary $9.68 per hour.
